The macadamia enterprise operated by Macvest Management consists of three farms, four land titles, each farm being different in configuration and age of plantings. The farms are operated as a single entity but could each be operated separately. The original planting was made in 1989 on Tallowood Grove, which is now mature and the main nut bearing plantation.
*FARM 1 - Tallowood Grove
Area:Approx. 84.8 ha, in two titles.
Trees: Approx. 13,200 trees – Planted in 3 stages. All trees are grafted to the high crackout high yielding Australian varieties and are 13 to 15 years old planted over approx. 50 hectares [ha] on 7mx4m spacing.These "A" varieties bring quite a premium over the old Hawaiian varieties thereby generating considerably more dollars per ha.
Production: This farm produced 180 tonnes of nut in shell [n.i.s.]in 2006 which yielded 77 t. of premium kernel which is 29% more than the industry standard. It is expected to continue to produce 150 to 200 t. per year n.i.s.

FARM 2 - Millenium Block
Adjoins Farm 1 on southern side is fully accessible from Farm 1 but also has its own access.
Area: 40 HA
Trees: Approx 5,500 Macadamia trees mostly 3 year old.
7x4 m spacing.
Varieties Latest high yielding.
Expect production to begin 2008. when in full production this plantation is expected to produce 72 tonnes per annum of high quality nut in shell.
Features: Separate dwelling entitlement. Excellent access. Has the geographical features of farm 1 but is closer to Hwy, town and beach. 1500 young cabinet timber trees 2 y.o. Lots of water.

FARM 3 – “The Crest”
Adjoins farm 2 on the northern side also has its own access.
Area: 50.45 HA
Trees: Approx 4,650 Macadamia trees and 5,000 softwood cabinet timber trees. Approx 3,650 of the Macadamias are 4 to 6 year old and most beginning to bear. Estimated production for 2007 is 7.5 tonnes NIS. This is expected to increase to 60 tonnes P.A.The remainder of the macadamia trees are 2 year old.
Main varieties are A4, A268, A38, A29. High yielding Aussie varieties.
Features: Separate dwelling entitlement. Excellent access. Is similar in featires to farm 2 but is more established and has a lot more cabinet timber plantation as well as a large area of natural hardwood forest. The site of the original homestead lies on this property which has panoramic rural and mountain views.
